saw hundreds of vilks storming one of the headquarters of a known militant group in benghazi after they initially managed to peacefully take over that location, they then set their sights on a second area. this turned out to be a battalion that is, in fact, endorsed by the government. it did result in some clashes that caused injuries and casualties and then the army eventually in the early morning hours moved in, especially trying to remove massive weapons. we arrived on site and saw some of the heavy weaponry that the army was trying to secured. at one of the brigade headquarters, we saw a number of detainees that people said had been taken into custody in conjunction with the assault of that government-endorsed battalion headquarters. it certainly is a chaotic and volatile situation. many say this is part of the populations being fed up with the government's inability to reign in this tuation, trying to take the situation into their own hands. we were hearing late saturday night two more known militant bases had shut down, this time to the east. they have been monitoring it quit
